1. Who we are

coSym. is an independent digital publication available at cosym.org. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].

2. What we collect and why

Comments—When you leave a comment, we collect the information entered in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent. This is used solely for spam detection and site moderation.

Media—If you upload images to the site, we recommend removing embedded location data (EXIF GPS) before doing so. This data can be read by other visitors if left in the file.

Newsletter—If you subscribe to the coSym. newsletter, we store your email address for the purpose of sending publication updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

3. Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • If you leave a comment and choose to save your details, your name and email are stored in cookies for one year.
  • If you have a registered account, login session cookies are used while you are signed in. These are removed when you log out.
  • Functional cookies are used to support site interactions and performance.

4. Analytics and search tools

We use Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to understand how coSym. is discovered and accessed. These tools provide aggregated, anonymised data of page visits, search queries, and browser types. Individual user data is not collected or stored through these tools.

5. Embedded content

Some articles include content embedded from external platforms. This content behaves as if you visited those platforms directly, and their respective privacy policies apply.

6. AI and open access

coSym. provides a llms.txt file at cosym.org/llms.txt — a structured, text-only version of our published content intended to help AI systems accurately represent and cite our work. This file contains only published editorial content. No personal data, comments, or user information is included.

7. Your data rights

If you have a registered account or have left comments on the site, you may request a copy of the personal data we hold or request its deletion. To do so, contact us at [email protected].

8. Third-party data processing

Comments submitted on coSym. are checked through an automated spam detection service. No other personal data is shared with third parties.
